Product Manager


The Product Manager needs to articulate a vision for the product, acquire and quantify customer requirements, and develop and maintain the business case. The Product Manager focuses on both strategic and tactical aspects of product planning and management that include requirement definition, initial pricing, rollout, acceptance testing and list pricing.


They work with others to develop and refine the business plan, product life cycle, and strategic marketing activities for their product(s) or product line. They must develop and maintain strong interrelationships with development, marketing, sales, and delivery, and must enjoy working in a team environment. 


The role of the Product Manager includes establishing long term strategy for the growth of our products and services; leading all product development and enhancement initiatives and driving their execution through the organization with the help of cross functional partners. 


An ideal candidate for the job will be a self-motivated professional with strong organizational skills who can handle a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and multiple projects/tasks. He or she will bring a positive can-do attitude, experience in Project Management for healthcare IT products, experience working in a small company, and a wide range of talents to help grow the company to the next level.

 

     Responsibilities

 

Product Strategy

Perform an objective analysis of potential product opportunity to provide a basis for investment.

Understand our marketplace, our competition, our position in the competitive landscape and clearly articulate-to and educate others in our organization about the business threats and opportunities that arise from these factors.

 

Product Planning

Plan products and services to solve the market problems.

Along with Marketing, create and communicate product definitions, positioning and content so our products and services deliver clear value to their target market(s).

Create and maintain Requirements Documents that communicate to development what we are building, who our customers are and what problems we will be solving.

Create and manage product roadmaps illustrating the vision for the product.

Lead the process to create and manage product plans through the product life cycle, from solution conception and development through rollout, enhancements, and development of new solutions. Utilize the stage gate process.

 

Product Development

Create new product concepts to extend current products or create new ones. Add product conceptualizing or extension. Create product strategy, market analysis or research.

 

Commercialization

Along with Marketing, help create a plan for launching the product/enhancement.

Make sure all departments are prepared for the product release, all items are completed to launch the product externally, and that launch status is communicated

 

Product Management

Monitor and analyze how well the product is performing including, actual to planned revenue, key metrics, and market share.

Regular reviews of product roadmaps and progress

Promote the Products internally and externally

Establish and monitor pricing and pricing policy for each Product.

Help develop and implement the appropriate product focused education and training programs for new hire training and recurrent product training

Along with Marketing, gather and disseminate competitive information to all relevant internal and external sources

Work closely with other functions to ensure the effectiveness, quality, and integrity of all data assets, business rules, third-party data sources, and processing

Regularly inspect client deliverables, and results to ensure product integrity is maintained in ongoing sales, service, and delivery practices

Leverage expert technical sales and product resources in the implementation of key product and service strategies

Ensure account teams are able to properly articulate the value proposition for all Company products and services

Develop and manage to key performance indicators and client level economic targets

 

Client communication

Maintain a solid and current understanding of the overall market and the competitive strengths and weaknesses of our products in order to position and differentiate products effectively in the market

Provide regular communication to the organization concerning new products, product enhancements and improvements and other salient market information

Lead internal webinars and training sessions on the product.

Attend major industry trade shows to serve as subject matter expert.

Participate as a speaker at industry events to raise the awareness of Company as a leader within the industry.

Identify vendors and partners and in support of product initiatives that require 3rd parties to extend our capabilities

 

Sales Enablement and Support

Provide support to sales force in the execution of their sales plans and to better understand the needs of the market.

Attend sales calls and meetings to deliver client specific product strategies to drive revenue and maximize account penetration.

Provide product and market expertise for events such as conferences, tradeshows, webinars, and seminars.

Provide support for product specific issues or problems affecting multiple clients.

 

Market and Quantitative Analysis

Provide a foundation of knowledge to guide decisions throughout the product evaluation, definition and readiness phases.

Along with Marketing, gather industry opinion and quantitative market data for different market segments.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Product management experience and/or e-business marketing services experience.
  • Relevant University degree or equivalent work experience preferably in Marketing and or Project Management.
  • Proven strategy and implementation skills with demonstration of significant results (from strategy to action).
  • Highly developed management skills on projects, people, teams, and resources.
  • Ability to work in a small company environment without direct report authority.
  • Demonstrated career progression through the successful demonstration of the above outlined competencies.

 

The position reports to the VP of Business Development, who also manages Sales and Marketing. It’s based at our headquarters in Denver, CO.
